We didn’t know it before we arrived, however, this was the very first Canadian parkrun so we have now made two national pilgrimages in 3 weeks.

With a sensible 09:00 start we didn’t leave home until 07:45 and went with Deirdre so that she could experience her first parkrun. Upon arrival we were met by the RD/ED who had clearly done some homework about us.

Naturally it was selfie frame picture to start off with.

During the run brief we were given a very warm welcome and because the ED wanted everybody to see the milestone tees we were asked not to wear high viz. Joining us as tailwalkers were two first timer volunteers. Much talking occurred during the double out and back course.

As Rory was feeling a bit exhausted we didn’t go to the official parkfaff but stopped off on the way home to get a drink and bite to eat.
