I’m not sure that we requested a Tropical Cyclone during week 1 of our stay in Brisbane but that is precisely what was expected.

Initial forecast was for Brisbane to be hit on Thursday night/Friday Morning.
Darren, Hilary and Wendy put everything away that normally is just lying about, in preparation.
As the week progressed the forecast for impact time/day kept being pushed back. By late Friday morning ALL parkruns for the weekend had been cancelled.

From North to South a distance of 428km and from East to West 180km. Approximately 80 separate events.
Very relieved the cyclone winds did not arrive as forecast!
The downgrade to a Tropical Low means we are getting LOTS of rain risking floods and damage. We are high up where we are staying, however power outages and creeks at risk of overflowing means we are unable to get out and shops are closed at the moment.
Hoping it will recede and dry up enough over next few days to allow freedom to get out and about.
Our hosts are doing an amazing job of looking after us!
Just very glad for them it was not worse!
