The long flight to Oz

As we wanted to avoid any potential issues with medicinal cannabis (Sativex for those in the know) when we first decided on this trip we opted for the direct flight of Heathrow to Perth.

Once we had gone through passport control and eaten some breakfast it wasn’t long before I was on a “cherry picker” and making my way to the plane in a typical understated manner.

After 12 hours, although the picture makes it look like we were close – there was still 4 and a quarter more hours of flying to go!

Once we arrived we then had the fun of trying to get to our AirBnb without a mobile signal (must remember to do that all before we go in the future) 2 aborted attempts before we finally got to the pad 4 hours after landing.

First time flying with Qantas and I was very happy with the service received.

35 degrees Celsius so the shorts were on quickly.

Glad Qantas looked after you. They usually do a great job even though they cost more, their service levels are usually top notch.

Wow, that’s some flight. Makes my 10 hour train journey up to Inverness seem short! 😆
